Re: Adwords API vs. Editor

Hi Shany,

As far as I know, there is no documentation on the differences between AdWords Editor and AdWords API. However, if you have any specific questions regarding the two, please let me know.

Re: Adwords Dynamic Remarketing Setup

Hello J,

I wanted to follow up with you to see if you got this figured out. Did you need any further help?

Best,

Hi J,

Could you point out where in the AdWords user interface you're having to manually fill out these fields? That way we can find an AdWords API equivalent to what you're trying to do. It sounds like you're trying to programatically come up with a way of filling in data for a task that is pretty repetitive.

Cheers,
Nadine, AdWords API Team

Hi

I was being guided that in order for the dynamic remarketing tag to work for your Adwords campaigns and other data collection by Google, you need to manually fill in fields in the tag like product ID and other custom parameters.

Question would be, do i need to repeat this process for 1000 products uploaded to my e-store repeatedly? (since all productID's will be different)? Is there any dynamic way to do it, ie populating these required fields?

Appreciate any expert advice!

Regards
J

Would you happen to log the SOAP response? If so, could you click Reply Privately to Author and send me the requestId that came back with the error? If not, could you please click Reply Privately to Author and send me your client customer ID? That will make it easier for me to pull the exact log on our servers associated with that error.

Re: How to set user's bank informations

Hello,

The AdWords API does not support setting up the bank information for the user account. This could be done using the AdWords product side (UI). Please check out Bank account (also known as direct debit) section of the Choose a payment method document.

Cheers,
Umesh, AdWords API Team.

Developer Token Pending Approval

AdWords manager account (MCC)  requested a developer token and it is not yet approved.

I received a email from Google Adwords API review team stating that:

"According to our records, your AdWords manager account (MCC) does not appear to have much history with AdWords. Please keep in mind that the AdWords API is designed for companies that have a large number of campaigns to manage.  If you recently created a new AdWords manager account (MCC) and linked your existing accounts, you may disregard this notice. If you are still interested in the using the AdWords API, please link any existing AdWords accounts to your MCC account."

Our AdWords manager account (MCC) have much history with AdWords with large numbers of campaigns to manage.

May i please know when this developer token will be approved?Do you need anything else for the approval?

Re: Including device type in PRODUCT_PARTITION_REPORT results in less zero impression data?

Hi Mario,

For the issue described on stackoverflow, you need to use id field instead of CampaignId of the Campaign for the CampaignService. Could you provide me privately the report request for PRODUCT_PARTITION_REPORT? Just click Reply privately to author in the forum when responding.

Thanks,

Glad we can finally download AdWords video cost data through the API. But for some reason the report returns $0 cost - even though there are definitely clicks and cost that we see directly through the AdWords UI. Any idea why this is?

Attaching the report that the API returns..

[firebird-support] Charset UTF8 or ISO8859_1 for new DB with CI + AI

I've used FB for years with ISO8859_1 charset and collation.

Now I designing a new DB for a big app update in FB3 and wonder about this charset and collation. My goal is to avoid having to UPPER everything for comparison searches.

For test purposes I am using UTF8 and UNICODE_AI_CI and I like that I can now don't have to worry about casing comparisons nor accents or other special characters.

In fact, all the stored data in will be in the regular english-us alphabet with maybe a little in spanish for things like "japapeño", but still all single byte chars.

Here are my questions:

1. Is only one byte used for storage for english and spanish?

2. Is there any CI + AI collation for ISO8859_1?

3. Is there any downside to using UTF8 and UNICODE_AI_CI over ISO8859_1 and collation ISO8859_1?

Rick

Re: Auction Insights Report

Hi Ludo, Dave,

Thanks for providing details on the use cases for this report. I'll pass that info along to the team, but unfortunately I can't say at this point when or if this will be added to the API.

Thanks,

It's competitor data so we can effectively report over time how we're doing against certain competitors. Right now, the only way to do this is to save the report each month segmented by week and manually paste it into a spreadsheet or Tableau.

Some of our larger clients only care about branding and getting a greater impression share than certain key competitors.

Thanks for getting back you me on this.

[firebird-support] UTF8 charset with case insensitive match

I've used FB for years with ISO8859_1 charset and collation.

Now I designing a new DB for a big app update in FB3 and wonder about this charset and collation.

For test purposes I am using UTF8 and UNICODE_AI_CI and I like that I can now don't have to worry about casing comparisons nor accents or other special characters.

In fact though, all the data in will be in the regular english-us alphabet with maybe a little in spanish for things like "japapeño", but still all single byte chars.

From what I read, only one byte is used for storing these characters, so the same amount of space would be used as compared to ISO8859_1.

What I am wondering before I get too far along, is there any downside to using UTF8 and UNICODE_AI_CI?

Regards,

Rick

App suddenly fails with OAUTH_TOKEN_INVALID error

My app has been untouched and successfully connecting to the AdWords API since v201506.
I am using the php client library and auth.ini for credentials.

Suddenly today the follow error is triggered:
 [soap:Server] [AuthenticationError.OAUTH_TOKEN_INVALID @ ; trigger:'<null>'] ... thrown in ... Google/Api/Ads/Common/Lib/AdsSoapClient.php on line 217

Why is this error occurring?
What do I need to do to get my credentials working again?
New RefreshToken? How? (it was a while ago that I set it up and I think the process has changed).

Re: QualityScore on Shopping Campaigns Criterions with Product Partition always "5"!

Greetings Everyone!

Here's an update. There was an issue fixed that affected the behavior here, and there was a lot of back and forth on how to handle this. So, I appreciate everyone's input. If the quality score is not applicable, then the quality score will no longer be filled in. On the back-end, it's being sent back as a null. There was just a lot of general confusion from people when they were getting quality scores for items where it didn't make sense.

Cheers,
Nadine, AdWords API Team

Since quality score is a relative rating of keyword relevance from 1 to 10, a 5 is a neutral value.

The quality score is an important feedback indicator for your ads, so anything that would likely be coerced into a zero may result in false indication of unhealthy campaigns.

A "" would introduce a second data type that is non numeric in this field, unnecessarily adding complexity to every system that uses quality score.

From my perspective, a 5 is better than a blank or null or just not including it in the response. It shows an indifference to the criteria, it's not good or bad.

Hope this food for thought helps. :D

Re: Developer Token Works, Production Token can't connect

Hi Josh,

The AuthorizationError.USER_PERMISSION_DENIED means your OAuth credentials don't match clientCustomerId you specify. Basically, login you are using doesn't have access to the account you are trying to touch. Could you confirm that the login account used for doing OAuth2 authorization is the same as that of manager account?

Re: How can I generate report using Google adwords api without downloading the file?

Hello,

You could have your report returned as a string instead of downloading it. In order to do so, you should pass a NULL value in place of the $filePath as such:
$report = ReportUtils::DownloadReport($reportDefinition, NULL, $user, $options);

You also look at this previous post for more details since the user was trying to accomplish the same feature.

Cheers,
Anthony

You did not provide all required information to give you a reasonable
answer.
At least, post fb_lock_print -d <database_path> output.

Re: [firebird-support] FB lock files

Hi Rudi.

Look at this http://www.janus-software.com/fbmanual/manual.php?book=admin&topic=23

Consider to change DefaultDbCachePages in firebird.conf.  You should read about this, because it depends if you use super server, classic or super classic.

DatabaseGrowthIncrement  is a  parameter that can affect the database performance too.

I noticed our biggest data server have a lot of hard disk activity creating fb_lock files.

Firebird 2.5.4, superclassic

My changed lock configurations are :

#LockMemSize = 1048576

LockMemSize = 10097152

#LockHashSlots = 1009

LockHashSlots = 60589

Should I try to set them higher? If so, whats a good parameter to know by how much I should increase it?

Including device type in PRODUCT_PARTITION_REPORT results in less zero impression data?

Hello,

i have some issues with the PRODUCT_PARTITION_REPORT.

I want to get zero impression data for data splitted by device.
Knowing that i can not include statistic data like impressions and clicks, i just use 'attributes' (account, campaign, adgroup, product_group and device).

I did 4 test queries - with and without device, with and without zero impressions. And then i recognized some major differences in the returned zero impression data:
Including the device type resulted in about 900 less(!) entries with zero impressions. Also whole campaigns with zero impressions are not returned anymore when device type is selected.

I did the same test with the KEYWORDS_PERFORMANCE_REPORT which was ok and i had no issues with it.

The full question/issue i have described on stack overflow:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28708378/adwords-api-campaignservice-query-returns-invalid-predicate-field-name-for-val?rq=1

So do you have an explanation for this behaviour or is it just a bug?

Thanks,
Mario
