Could you please help me?

ConvertedClicks not returned when segmenting by conversion name

For some reports (campaign and ad group at least), we segment by conversion name.  In the past, we have been able to request both Conversions and ConvertedClicks in these segment reports - but recently we have noticed that we're only getting Conversions back in the report - ConvertedClicks comes back as "---".

We recently upgraded from v201502 to v201509 - including the change in definition of Conversions.  I'm pretty sure that in the previous version, we were getting ConvertedClicks (by its previous name) returned successfully.

I understand that non-conversion stats can't be returned with a ConversionName segment - but ConvertedClicks sounds like a conversion stat (and the docs don't show it as excluded) - and we don't get an error, just an absence of data ...

Any idea what happened here?

Thanks

Adrian

Re: Keyword Performance Report: get qualilty scores for all currently active keywords

Hi,

Did you include the field Date? Please make sure you are using fields in your report that support zero impressions since some of your keywords may have 0 impressions for a certain day. If you set the date range to TODAY, you should only see stats for keywords for today. Additional rows may appear if any of the fields you are using is a Segment.

Please let me know if you still run into any issues.

Cheers,

Re: How do I get an access token for Adwords?

Hi,

As per the guide you mentioned, you will need to do the following:
  • Create a manager account, along with your AdWords account
  • Fill out AdWords API sign up form by going to your manager account's Account settings -> AdWords API Center
  • Create a client identifier and client secret by navigating to the Google Developers Console
Once these steps are done, you should be notified with a developer token once your form is approved.

If you are still having issues, please let me know.

Cheers,
Anthony

Hi,

You can get the Monthly Search Volume by using the TARGETED_MONTHLY_SEARCHES in the TargetingIdeaService. You may want to take a look at our Generating Targeting Ideas guide and the Get search volume data and trends section in particular.

Here is our Perl example on how to use this service.

Standar deviation metrics question/request

Hello,

No, the standard deviation is not a metric that is available at the report level. If you want that figure, I'm afraid you're going to have to calculate it by fetching the values for individual conversions.

Keyword Performance Report: get qualilty scores for all currently active keywords

Hi

I am trying to fetch the quality score for all currently active keywords.

I had set the ReportDefinitionDateRangeType to "LAST_14_DAYS".

I expected to see 14 rows of data for each keyword, instead I see only 4 or 5 for each keyword.

Is this a wrong expectation ?

I also understand that quality scores being returned in the reports are the current quality scores.

So if I set ReportDefinitionDateRangeType to "TODAY", would I get a single row for each keyword ?

Re: Offline Conversions - UNPARSEABLE_GCLID

Yes - it looks like we are having a mismatch in the case of the letters between the URL GCLID and the CLICK_PERFORMANCE_REPORT GCLID, only on occasion and without a clear pattern (such as in account, type of ad, landing page, etc.). Re: Invalid grant when using Token Refresh

Hi,

I don't think the fact that you logged into the account actually fixed the issue. I only asked you to perform that manual check to verify that the access had not been revoked from the account.

Since the token request ultimately worked later on, this looks to me like a transient error that eventually goes away, so the retry with exponential backoff would help in that case.

Thanks,
Josh, AdWords API Team

We currently don't have any kind of exponential backoff. Even if we did this would still require manual intervention by logging into the account, which requires a phone number for verification every time (phone number also has a limited number of uses).

$campaignCriteria[] = new CampaignCriterion('<id>', null, $proximity);

I would prefer to use the location criterion ID, but I'm not able to find any documentation on how to pass this ID to the proximity. The only options are geoPoint or address. ( https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201509/CampaignCriterionService.Proximity )
Is this correct or is there a different way?

Hello,

Nice job on finding the blog post! Yes, your understanding is correct that you now need a feed ID when you have a LocationExtensionOperand in your matching function.

To solve your issue, here are two possible solutions:
  • Option 1: It sounds like you may already have a Feed with your target location defined. What you would need to do is to do a get() to get that feed ID with the location and then explicitly set it on the criterion.
  • Option 2: This is a completely different approach that may work for you. You could give Proximity Targeting a try. It also gives you the ability to provide a radius around a target location criterion ID.

How would we target using LocationExtensionOperand without needing to provide additional locations via FeedMapping?

Error on .NET BatchJobUtilities instance creation

Hello,

I'm having troubles creating a BatchJobUtilities instance. I followed the code on .NET examples (https://github.com/googleads/googleads-dotnet-lib/blob/master/examples/AdWords/CSharp/v201509/CampaignManagement/AddCompleteCampaignsUsingBatchJob.cs), but when i call
BatchJobUtilities batchJobUploadHelper = new BatchJobUtilities(user)
I get a StackOverflowException (the AdWordsUser user object is already instantiated and working - i used it on reporting before).

Could you please help me?

Thank you in advance,
Rafael

Re: Offline Conversions - UNPARSEABLE_GCLID

Thanks - that seems to be the issue indeed. But why would the GCLIDs be all lowercase in certain specific cases? We are grabbing them directly from the URLs and most of the time they are fine. This issue seems to be scattered across different accounts and ad types.

Hmm, I really thought that I have seen this information on the header

We currently don't have any kind of exponential backoff. Even if we did this would still require manual intervention by logging into the account, which requires a phone number for verification every time (phone number also has a limited number of uses).

Is this something that will be added at some point, or is there a reason for it being excluded?

Thanks though. :) Any other ideas what might return what I'm looking for?

Re: Get Visitors for a campaign

Hi Deepa,

You could use the Audience Performance Report to get a report segmented based on audience. You can use the campaign fields CampaignName and CampaignId to find out which campaigns the audience belongs to. Or if you want a separate report for each campaign, you can add a predicate accordingly.
