Re: SOAP XML error for Chinese Names in ManagedCustomerService

Hi,

There is something weird here, I am able to parsed some other unicode characters and also other accounts of my customer. I have listed all the pip lib in my machine, I think I have installed all the lib correctly. By the way, I didn't change any of the import in the py file, how can it be changed to other libs if I do nothing in the lib?

This issue is also happened in the Java lib for the same account of our customer.

After some debugging, it seems like there will be noway to parsed the id like: 15-abc-1-mmep-中国－IOS. Please notice that the － is different from -.

I think this might have to do with something else. In the stacktrace, I noticed that you aren't using the sax parser embedded in the suds-jurko library. On even closer observation, I noticed that you weren't even using the suds-jurko library. This is almost definitely the cause of the problem, as I don't think our library is compatible with the original suds library, which is now woefully unmaintained. I suggest uninstalling both googleads and the suds library you're using currently. Then reinstall googleads with pip using the following command:

pip install googleads

Our setup.py file should then install all of the necessary dependencies automatically, which should resolve this problem.

Keywords Performance Report isn't matching campaign report

Hi All,

I'm using v201509 to fetching data from Adwords.

I found there has numbers not matching between keywords performance report and campaign performance report.
At first, I thought that may be fetching too many keywords at the same time, therefor, I fetching keywords by AdGroup one after another. But, there are still got the same result.

Are there anyone has any suggestion to resolve this problem?

Attaches is my fetching result from two account, one is match, the other is mismatch.

Unfortunately, Firebird cannot have foreign keys pointing to different databases, and only through EXECUTE STATEMENT is it currently possible to query another database (look at www.firebirdfaq.org/faq16/, note that I do not know whether or not Firebird 3 is any different in this regard).

I'm not certain, but in theory it may be possible to have a trigger that look up the value in a different database using EXECUTE STATEMENT and raises an exception if it doesn't find such a value. Though even if it can be possible, I would not recommend doing it.

It may be possible to have an ON CONNECT trigger that checks if there are new values in a lookup database and import stuff if there are any. Though I've never written an ON CONNECT trigger and don't know about advantages and pitfalls.

What would probably be a safe and common approach, is to put your changes into a script and then have a program that runs this script on all databases. This shouldn't be difficult to create and you may add some 'version control' onto your system at the same time (so that you can check what version is the current for each database before doing updates). If only one special user used by this update program is allowed to update the tables, then it ought to be pretty simple to ascertain all databases have the same content of these tables (well, as long as they're static lookup tables, tables that frequently change may have other issues such that it taking too long time to update all databases). If it is of importance that all databases are updated simultaneously, then Firebird does support multidatabase transactions.

Money type problem in the reports

Hey all, I saw couple people talking about this problem around here, and I wanted to know what are the solutions that exist for it.

For those  who don't know what I'm talking about, when you try to pull a report you get every thing that is related to cost in micro-millions(e.g 1.23$ will show as 1230000).
This could be a confusing thing for users who are unaware of this "gift", anyhow long story short what should I do?

Until now I thought about converting the ReportDownloadResponse object to csv & editing it but it's not fun and ugly & more importantly the method of saveToFile is obsolete.
I also thought on creating the csv & then editing it(but same reasons as above).
Is there a way to edit the ReportDownloadResponse object itself, I looked into it & haven't found the way but I could be missing stuff(hopefully....)

Anyhow the suggestions I saw online from Google rep's looks like they say to edit the value(divide by 1M), but they don't really say in what way.

So what is an ok solution for this problem?

Discrepancy between AdWords data and AWQL query data

When I look at my Google AdWords account we had no display ads running from Jan. 1, 2016 - Jan. 27, 2016. However when I use an AWQL query to pull AdWords data into a reporting dashboard it is showing that there were impressions and clicks for Display ads during this time period. 

The AdWords account is reporting correctly, as we had no ads running at this time. Can anyone offer any insight as to why the AWQL query is showing incorrect data? Also, how can I fix?

Feed type selection

hey all,

not sure if I miss something but when I create a feed via API (what works fine) how do I define the type of the feed? e.g. "Dynamic display ad feed (Real estate)".

I created a test campaign via browser and since I had 0 feeds AdWords create that type of feed for me when I selected 'Use dynamic ads'.

When I create again a new campaign I see that feed but non of my API versions.

Hi Suchit,

Could you please let me know for what campaigns you are seeing these IDs? These locations are non-targetable, that's why they are missing in the CSVs. But I'd like to figure out why they are showing up in your geo performance report. Could you share the campaign IDs using the "Reply to Author" option?

AdWords doesn't have a public list of geo name to location decoder. You could check the Google Maps API and see if their Geocoding API works for you.

These are 63 unknown locations that belongs to just one adGroup, now once I move to a campaign and aggregate all adGroups geo stats of that campaign, this unknown region count becomes too many to ignore. Am I missing something here?

Also latest (2015-10-13) Geographical targeting csv has some problems in few of the records I think (PFA screenshot of this kind of data in CSV), name and countryCode are not in the right columns of csv. Is the CSV need some corrections?

Looks like you are sending the AdGroup ID in <adGroupId></adGroupId> node instead of an <id></id> node. See https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201506/AdGroupService.AdGroup for the possible fields of an ad group.

Re: TrafficEstimatorService gives always zero

Hi,

I think the reason you are not getting any data returned is because the max CPC and daily budget values you are using are too small. Please keep in mind that Money in AdWords API is returned in micro units. 

Try to send the request using valid values and let me know if that changed anything.
